At We Sell Mats, we are dedicated to helping families create safe, comfortable, and supportive spaces for their loved ones. So when we heard about Liam's story, we were thrilled to play a role in creating this space using our premium quality foam flooring tiles.
Liam Cruz was born with Allan-Herndon-Dudley Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, also known as MTC8 Deficiency, which is a brain development disorder that causes severe intellectual disability and movement issues. There are only 300 cases worldwide with only 3 to 4 cases in the United States, affecting all male patients, including Liam. His mother, Nicole Bolufé cares for him every day, always aware that he is prone to seizures, respiratory and cardiac failure. He is fed through a port in his stomach.
Designing Spaces™ is an award-winning home improvement show that travels the country to remodel, redecorate and redesign the spaces we call home. The Designing Spaces team surprised Liam and his family with a new sensory room. This room was created specifically for Liam's needs, featuring soft foam mats, sensory panels, and other tools to help him feel safe and comfortable. When Liam saw his new room for the first time, his reaction was priceless – he was overjoyed, jumping, and laughing with excitement.
One of the key features of Liam's sensory room was the premium quality foam flooring tiles and mats provided by We Sell Mats. Our foam flooring tiles and exercise mats are ideal for creating a safe and comfortable surface for children to play, learn, and explore. They are designed to absorb shock and provide cushioning, which is particularly important for children with special needs who may have difficulty with balance or coordination. The foam mats used in Liam's room were also easy to clean and maintain, making them an ideal choice for a high-traffic area like a playroom or sensory room.
At We Sell Mats, we believe that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment in which to grow and thrive. We are committed to providing families with the tools they need to create these spaces in their own homes, whether it's through high-quality foam mats, sensory panels, or other products designed to support special needs children. We are inspired by Liam's story and the impact that a well-designed space can have on a family, and we are proud to be a part of this important work. We hope that Liam's story will inspire other families to create similar spaces for their own children.
