I like this mat a lot. I have it in my 9 month old daughter's bedroom. We have hardwood floors. It's durable, provides a good cushion, and also looks good. I've made another mat from left over pieces and I use it in our sunroom/play room. (Posted on 2/15/12)

They don't have any weird odor coming from them. Nice and bright. The letters and numbers come in and out like a puzzle so its interactive. Functional and interactive so its got my vote. (Posted on 2/11/12)

My husband and I purchased this mat for my then 7 month old who was starting to scoot around. We wanted something other than harsh berber carpet on his little hands and knees. We've got it set up now as 7' x 8', reserving the extra squares for when we move to a bigger home. Now at 9 months, he's crawling around on it like a mad man. He does seem to like to pull the edge pieces off and stick them in his mouth, but that's a baby for ya. Since they're non-toxic, we're not too worried.

It was easy to put together. A bit of a pain to clean very well. A brief wipe down with bleach water or even to spray it with Lysol to set overnight for germs is mainly what we do. To do a thorough cleaning, I think taking it apart and washing each piece would get it clean....not something I want to do even every week.

My little man loves the texture, which can be a problem because he likes to scrape his nails on the mat. Mostly it's ok but on a few letters and squares you can see the scratch marks. I think it'll be easy to replace any tiles that get overly worn, and after he starts walking, he'll be alot less interested in scratching the mat than running around on it.

All in all, after 2 months of use, we're pretty happy with the purchase. Our next step is to buy a baby gate to encircle it....as he's fast that a little speed demon now that he's got the hang of crawling. (Posted on 2/11/12)

Don't buy any other mat but this!!! I bought literally every type and brand of mat and this one is hands down the best. The others fall apart when you walk on them, they always break apart and even slip on our wood floors and are a safety hazard. On other ones from like toys r us and childrens place, the letters are always falling out and the materials that they are made out of are so finky and junk.

But THIS MAT is sooooooo durable, doesn't come apart, stays put, doesn't seperate not a safety risk, non-slip, just overall wonderful!!! i am sooo mad that i wasted money on all theo other brands i wish i would have gotten this from the start. It was so great when my daugther was first leaning how to crawl and sit and walk b/c even when she falls and bangs her head, shes fine, she just bounces right up and keeps on going. I cannot say it enough...GET THIS MAT!!!!!!!!!! (Posted on 2/11/12)
